One championship match is set while another is set to be determined. Wimbledon has delivered some incredible moments so far in 2025 and there are still more to come.
The women’s final is set for Saturday morning after another upset along the way. No. 13 seed Amanda Anisimova took down No. 1 seed Aryna Sabalenka in three sets on Thursday to reach her first Grand Slam final in thrilling fashion. After serving for the match up 5-3 in the third, Sabalenka scored a break to push it back on serve. But Anisimova answered immediately by scoring the first three points of the 10th game and eventually getting the win. She’ll take on No. 8 seed Iga Swiatek, who eliminated Belinda Bencic in straight sets (6-2, 6-0).
The men take Centre Court on Friday morning with a pair of must-see semifinal matchups.
In the first match, two-time reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz made it back to the final after handling a difficult challenge from American Taylor Fritz. (The two met twice previously with Alcaraz prevailing in both in straight sets.) Alcaraz, the No. 2 seed this year, has generally cruised through the tournament after a hairy start in his opening-round match.
And in the second match, a major showdown is set between an all-time great and the No. 1 player in the world. Novak Djokovic is back in the Wimbledon semifinals after grinding his way through his two weeks in London. He takes on No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who considers himself lucky to still be alive in the tournament after an injury to Grigor Dimitrov allowed him to advance when he was down two sets in the quarterfinals.
