Wimbledon 2025 LIVE: Djokovic vs De Minaur, Shelton vs Sonego – watch TV stream, scores & results
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 4-3 Djokovic*
Harry Poole
- BBC Sport at Wimbledon
- The crowd temporarily take the spotlight as a group of Novak Djokovic supporters begin chanting “Let’s go Novak, let’s go!”.
- Others counter that with words of encouragement for Alex de Minaur, before one man cuts through the tension with a shout of “Come on Roger”.
- I can’t quite make out Roger Federer’s reaction over in the Royal Box, but I’m sure that must have brought a smile.

- Sensational from Novak Djokovic!
- Alex de Minaur saves the first two break points but the Serb wins a third.
- The pair then go at it on the next point, back and forth before Djokovic begins to take control and finishes it by slapping a forehand dismissively down the line.
- Back on serve.
Samsonova 7-5 7-5 Bouzas Maneiro
- Liudmila Samsonova is into a Grand Slam quarter-final for the first time.
- She lived on her nerves a little bit in that second set, the 19th seed, saving six break points against Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.
- But just like the first set, Samsonova pounces when the stakes are at their highest, breaking the Spaniard’s serve to deny her a tie-break and clinch the match.
- Bouzas Maneiro very unlucky at match point down to see a forehand clip the net and land out.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 4-2 Djokovic
- Here comes Novak…
- Two break points for the seven-time champion at 15-40…

- Alex de Minaur is giving Novak Djokovic everything he possibly can out here.
- I don’t blame his box for beaming.

- Still work to be done for Alex de Minaur in this fourth set.
- The Australia produces some brilliant clean hitting – including a searing forehand winner down the line – to earn a break point but Novak Djokovic saves it with a delicate drop volley.
- The sixth seed sees it out from there and there’s another big service game coming up for De Minaur.
- *Shelton 3-6 3-1 Sonego
- Big moment on court one. Ben Shelton has put the loss of that first set firmly behind him.
- He’s helped a bit to be fair by Lorenzo Sonego as the Italian goes missing, a poor service game encapsulated by the double fault that gifts the 10th seed the advantage in set two.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 4-1 Djokovic*

- *pinches Todd Woodbridge’s excellent stat for the report…
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 4-1 Djokovic*
Todd Woodbridge
- Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC One
- There are so many numbers and things you can come up with, but this is a beauty.
- Novak Djokovic has only lost once when leading 2-1 in sets since 2010. That one loss was against Denis Istomin at the Australian Open.
- So it is going to be a big ask if Alex de Minaur wants to get out of this match with the win.
- Samsonova 7-5 5-4 Bouzas Maneiro*
- Still on serve on court two as Liudmila Samsonova holds to love which means she’s one break of serve away from a first-ever women’s Grand Slam quarter-final.
- Unseeded Jessica Bouzas Maneiro serving to stay in the tournament.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 4-1 Djokovic*
- Superb from Alex de Minaur.
- Up 40-15, he is on the defensive as Novak Djokovic starts to dictate again.
- A booming forehand looks like it might have De Minaur beat but he gets there and produces a fabulous backhand that dips on Djokovic as he comes to the net.
- Lovely shot to secure another hold.
- Shelton 3-6 2-1 Sonego*
- Lorenzo Sonego really mixing things up against American 10th seed Ben Shelton.
- Drop shots, lobs, slices, keeping Shelton on his toes every point.
- It pays dividends with two break opportunities at 15-40 but Shelton responds superbly with four dominant, powerful points, aided by some big booming first serves.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 3-1 Djokovic
- Novak Djokovic is on the board in this fourth set.
- A trademark backhand winner down the line clinches a hold to love.
- Still just one break in it in this set so the Serb will have every confidence that he can win this match without going the distance.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 3-0 Djokovic*

- Just when you started to think that Novak Djokovic had this under control…
- Alex de Minaur is refusing to go away. This has been a truly impressive display by the Australian – denied his chance to contest a first Wimbledon quarter-final by injury last year – whatever the outcome.
- There’s lots of laughter as the chair umpire rather joyfully asks the crowd to check their phones, as one rings just as Alex de Minaur prepares to serve. A very temporary break in an increasingly tense atmosphere.
- Verbeek/Siniakova 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 Paris/Silva
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

- British duo Joshua Paris and Eden Silva are out of the mixed doubles.
- The unseeded pairing fell to a straight-set 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 defeat against Czech-Dutch pairing Katerina Siniakova and Sem Verbeek out on court three.
- There was just one break of serve in the encounter but, when the big moments came, it was Siniakova and Verbeek who came out on top.
- They will face either eighth seeds Mate Pavic and Timea Babos or unseeded pairing Jackson Withrow and Irina Khromacheva in the semi-finals.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 3-0 Djokovic*
- Break consolidated. Alex de Minaur is halfway to forcing a fifth set.
- It’s pretty comfortable for the 11th seed as well. Even when a double fault gives Novak Djokovic a sniff at 40-30, he finds a good second serve on the next point and goes on to hold.
- Shelton 3-6 1-0 Sonego*
- After Flavio Cobolli’s win over Marin Cilic earlier – and with world number one Jannik Sinner still to come later – we could have three Italian players into a men’s Grand Slam singles quarter-final for the first time ever.
- Still plenty of work for Lorenzo Sonego to complete the second leg of that trifecta, of course.
- Ben Shelton reminds him of that, holding serve to begin set two on court one, aided by a wonderful job just inside the baseline.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 2-0 Djokovic

- What did I say about Novak Djokovic starting to dominate?
- Well, you can ignore that! Alex de Minaur breaks first in the fourth set – and does so comfortably.
- He gets the better of an entertaining exchange at the net, brings up three break points and gets the second of them when Djokovic put a tame backhand into the net.
- Sonego 6-3 Shelton*
- My word, that was some game and end to the first set.
- Ben Shelton really came in to that, earning himself two break points after getting to grips with the Lorenzo Sonego serve.
- But the Italian saved both, and served out to take a deserved lead in this match.
- The American is now getting a warning from the umpire about the time he’s taking to prepare for Sonego’s serve but he’s not happy with the warning – arguing that the Italian is waiting until the moment to serve every time.
- Sonego 5-3 Shelton*
Steve Crossman
- BBC Radio 5 Live presenter at Wimbledon
- This huge serve from both players has been something to witness, but Sonego has been serving particularly well. Shelton hasn’t got near to him.
- This is probably Sonego’s best performance in an individual match, but even that might not be enough.

- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 1-0 Djokovic*
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC One
- There has never been a player more technically proficient than Novak Djokovic.
- If you’re going to train some young kids, get them to look at his groundstrokes and pretty much copy everything that he does.
- They could try, but doing it is the hard part.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 1-0 Djokovic*
- Crucial hold for Alex de Minaur to start the fourth set.
- Novak Djokovic is starting to dominate and dictate the rallies but De Minaur clings on.
- The Australian has to save a break point but even then, the pressure exerted by Djokovic is clear, as – with the court at his mercy – De Minaur gets to the net whips a forehand that only just drops on the baseline.
- He wanted to give the Serb absolutely no chance, which he did, I suppose.
- Samsonova 7-5 3-2 Bouzas Maneiro*
- Brilliant deep serve from 19th seed Liudmila Samsonova saves a break point against Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro on court two.
- That’s a big hold for Samsonova after she pinched a tight first set.

Mark Woodforde
- 17-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds
- That pressure is going to be right there. If he has that opportunity to get to the final here he is going to be really tight.
- We have already witnessed it when he was trying to reach his 100th title, how long did that take him? He has been on 24 Grand Slams for quite a period of time and I think it will be a very nervous Djokovic. It is a really tough, emotional moment.
- It will be like a whole new opponent that he has to play – picking up number 25.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 0-0 Djokovic
Todd Woodbridge
- Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC Two
- How in the world did De Minaur miss that shot? He gave set point to the Serb.
- What a sensational way to seal the third set.
- De Minaur gave everything he could to that last point. It was just a slight mistake on the backhand which gave Novak the forehand and allowed him to dictate.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 0-0 Djokovic
- Novak Djokovic leads after another superb rally.
- He’s come from a set down and is now just a set away from another Wimbledon quarter-final.
- There was a chance for Alex de Minaur at 30-30 but he dumped a backhand into the net. A costly unforced error.
- “Novak! Novak! Novak,” chant the crowd before set point.
- It’s a long point but Djokovic gradually takes control, moving De Minaur one way then the other before coming into the net to finish it.
- What has De Minaur got left?
- *Samsonova 7-5 1-1 Bouzas Maneiro
- Liudmila Samsonova has taken the opening set against Jessica Bouzas Maneiro out on court two.
- The 19th seed claimed an important break of serve at 6-5 up to secure a healthy one-set advantage in the last-16 match, leaving Spain’s Bouzas Maneiro bitterly disappointed after a strong first-set showing.
- There were multiple breaks of serve in that first set, so expect more drama to unfold in this one!
- Sonego 5-2 Shelton*
- This is a serving clinic from Lorenzo Sonego right now.
- His first-serve percentage is at 82% after four service games – meaning he’s failed with just two attempts so far.
- Shelton, by contrast, is getting just 35% of his first serves in so far.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-5 Djokovic*
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV
- De Minaur is playing top tennis today. The best I have seen him play in a long time. His forehand has been a problem at times and he is not able to finish points. But that’s just because the game is getting tight now.
- Djokovic has been making De Minaur run more and more. He finally has a chance to go ahead in this set.
- A painful loss of serve for De Minaur.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-5 Djokovic*
- Novak Djokovic will serve for the third set!
- The Serb was furious with himself for attempting a drop shot at 0-30 when he really had no need to.
- That ball ended up in the net but Alex de Minaur was not able to come back.
- At 30-40, he fires a forehand wide and Djokovic has the chance to go up two sets to one.

- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-4 Djokovic
Harry Poole
- BBC Sport at Wimbledon
- In the context of this match, with how this has been going for both players, the outcome of this third set really does feel crucial.
- Alex de Minaur has done very little wrong and he absolutely must believe this is there for the taking.
- In this tight set, the crowd, the majority of whom just want to see a brilliant match continue for as long as possible, are strongly backing whoever needs them most at any particular moment.
- Sonego 4-1 Shelton*
Jeff Tarango
- Former American tennis player on BBC Radio 5 Live
- Sonego is playing great percentage tennis right now. He is playing hot and having no trouble with the Shelton serve. This is a real problem for Shelton early on.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-4 Djokovic
- Just as Alex de Minaur might think he’s got a chance at 30-30, Novak Djokovic’s serve comes up trumps.
- He goes out to De Minaur’s forehand side and it’s all the Australian can do to get a racquet on it, then nails a ace down the T to hold.
- Who will blink first in this third set?
- Sonego 4-1 Shelton*
- As sloppy as Ben Shelton’s been so far, Lorenzo Sonego’s been the opposite.
- The Italian’s settled right into business on court one. He’s not giving an inch.
- Shelton keeps getting caught on the drop shot. Have Sonego’s team told him to target the American’s tendency to stay behind the baseline?
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-3 Djokovic*
Mark Woodforde
- 17-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds
- This is a tough way for De Minaur to play. He is having to absorb so much pace and weight against the elite players.
- He has been on the tour for seven, eight years – he is 26 and has to project forward. Can he sustain this type of effort for possibly another 10 years?
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-3 Djokovic*
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV
- It seems like the wind has calmed down a lot which makes it easier to play.
- A really good feel on De Minaur’s volleys. You have to be precise and he is.
- Djokovic has found a much better quality on serve. How he is able to do what he does at his age, is remarkable.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-3 Djokovic*
- There’s a big cheer from the Novak Djokovic supporters on Centre Court as the Serb wins the opening point to go up 0-15.
- Alex de Minaur is completely unfazed, though, and quickly gets himself ahead 40-15.
- A sumptuous forehand winner from Djokovic extends the game but he finds the net next point and it stays on serve.
- *Sonego 3-1 Shelton
- A really poor game from Ben Shelton.
- Lorenzo Sonego wins four points in a row to get a break but this was more to do with Shelton giving this away.
- An ill-advised drop shot, a hot dog, a netted backhand and a wide forehand.
- Shelton had the full repertoire there.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 3-3 Djokovic
Pat Cash
- Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live
- De Minaur is just dictating the whole match. Any time Djokovic tries something new, Alex has got the answers to it.
- There are long, long rallies and this is not what Novak wants. He has been losing all of them and he isn’t used to this. De Minaur is able to absorb everything Novak hits at him and move him around.
- Where does Novak win this match? He is hoping that Alex makes a mistake but he’s not today, which is a huge surprise.

- Salisbury/Skupski 6-1 6-7 (7-9) 7-6 (10-7) Gonzalez/Molteni
- British duo Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski are through to the men’s doubles quarter-finals!
- It looked like it was going to be an easy afternoon for the sixth seeds, after rattling through the opening set in 27 minutes, but the pair were forced to play out two tie-breaks.
- After securing an early mini-break in the deciding set 10-point tie-break, the Brits won three points on the bounce to open up a healthy 8-5 lead over Argentinian duo Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni.
- Salisbury then hit a bullet of an ace to secure a third match point before Skupski finished things off with a lovely overhead smash at the net, securing their quarter-final spot with a 6-1 6-7 (7-9) 7-6 (10-7) victory.
- Wonderful teamwork from the British pair. It was hard work though – and Skupski’s face shows it, with a puff of the cheeks followed by a beaming smile.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 3-3 Djokovic
- Easy as you like for Novak Djokovic.
- He’s helped by getting three first serves in to move to 40-0. He’s really got that serve going and those two double faults in the opening game of the match seem a long time ago now.
- Sonego 2-1 Shelton*
- Nothing to separate these two at the first change of ends in this first set.
- We’ve had three holds on serve so far, with American 10th seed Ben Shelton to serve next.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 3-2 Djokovic*
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV
- De Minaur is pushing Djokovic from side to side. There was always going to be a difficult patch for him in this third set. But he has come through that and it has become pretty tight now.
- De Minaur won’t be feeling stressed or overwhelmed as he has done in the past against the big names.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 3-2 Djokovic*
- Novak Djokovic throws his arms up in a mixture of disgust and admiration as another Alex de Minaur forehand finds the chalk on the baseline.
- Then the Australian wins a game of cat and mouse at the net with a delicious cross-court backhand winner.
- De Minaur forces an error from the seven-time champion and another comfortable-ish hold.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 2-2 Djokovic
- Alex de Minaur’s return game deserts him, much to the Aussie’s frustration, and Novak Djokovic holds to love, sealed with a lovely ace down the T.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 2-1 Djokovic*
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV
- The game plan that De Minaur has come up with is a really good one. He will have seen Djokovic play hundreds of time. He is doing well to execute it.
- Novak is a little frustrated. Can we get AI to translate what he screamed up to his box please?
- Djokovic is serving much better than he did in the first set. He got through that and he has found a way to get the job done.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 2-1 Djokovic*
Harry Poole
- BBC Sport at Wimbledon
- Some of these looks and shouts Novak Djokovic is aiming at his team…
- You’d hate to be sat where they are right now.
- After initially keeping his cool, he’s certainly not hiding his emotions any longer.
- Credit to Alex de Minaur. He is blocking it all out, locked in and sticking steadfast to his task.
- *Sonego 0-0 Shelton
- Lorenzo Sonego will serve to get us under way against Ben Shelton on court one.
- Who are you backing?
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 2-1 Djokovic*
- A relatively rare easy service game, much to the relief of Alex de Minaur.
- Novak Djokovic pinches a point from 40-0 down with a fine backhand down the line.
- But De Minaur goes one better with a sumptuous backhand cross-court to end a long rally and seal the hold.
- Djokovic looks on in admiration, not even attempting to reach it.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 1-1 Djokovic
Pat Cash
- Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live
- Djokovic looks like his age now for a change. He has been running around huffing and puffing and not been able to force the play. We usually see Novak pounding some big shots on his opponents but he has been running everywhere.
- Alex has been very relaxed at the back of the court, pushing the ball and moving Novak around. It has been frustrating for Djokovic, he needs a good espresso. He has been barking at his team looking for encouragement.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 1-1 Djokovic
- Some really big serves help Novak Djokovic turn that break point around.
- One in particular clips the intersecting lines in the corner of the service box. Alex de Minaur looks to the umpire for help but replays show it’s in.
- Unreal accuracy and another hold from deuce to continue this intriguing start to the third set.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 1-0 Djokovic*
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV
- This match has got a great intensity about it. Both players are refusing to miss from the back of the court.
- Impeccable timing from Djokovic, the way he can direct it down the line. That is tougher than it looks.
- Things haven’t come easily for the former champion. He has not brought his ‘A’ game but still needs to find a way to win.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 1-0 Djokovic*
- Nice backhand down the line to start Novak Djokovic’s opening service game of set three.
- But a couple of tame misses – one wide, one netted – later and he’s pegged back to 30-30. Slices another into the net and it’s break point De Minaur.
- Serve has not been dominant on Centre that’s for sure.
- Shelton v Sonego (Court 1)
Steve Crossman
- BBC Radio 5 Live presenter at Wimbledon
- Lorenzo Sonego will be sick of the sight of Ben Shelton. We are at the third Grand Slam of the year and Shelton has knocked him out of both of the other two, once in five sets and once in four.
- Both are good at serving. Shelton hit a serve in the last round that would have broken the all-time Wimbledon record if it wasn’t for Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard who broke it last week.
- This should be a good one and easily could be a long one.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-6 1-0 Djokovic*
- Big hold from the Australian. Could have folded there after Djokovic’s second-set revival.
- But he made the world number six work for every point and Djokovic could not quite keep up.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 0-0 Djokovic
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV
- This is where it is so important for Alex to maintain his levels. We know the levels that Djokovic can achieve when he gets to them.
- De Minaur looks perfectly content in these longer rallies at the moment.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 0-0 Djokovic
- Emphatic smash at the net from Alex de Minaur saves the break point.
- He dumps another forehand into the net next point…. but saves another break point with a backhand that JUST clips the line.
- Novak Djokovic looks on in hope it might be called out, but no.
- And the Serb has his hands on his hips in disbelief after another De Minaur shot finds the line next point.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 0-0 Djokovic
- A safety-first rally with neither player willing to take much of a risk ends with Novak Djokovic straying long.
- Alex de Minaur outlasts the seven-time SW19 champ in the following rally too. 30-30.
- But then a double fault from the world number 11. Break point Djokovic…
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 0-0 Djokovic
- Has that rattled the Aussie?
- A routine forehand goes wide to begin the third set.
- And the another into the net. 0-30…

- That’s the sort of roar that you would usually hear Novak Djokovic unleash after winning a match!
- Instead, it’s come at the end of set two, after 95 extremely uncomfortable minutes.
- Excited chatter rises up around Centre Court. This is set up very, very nicely indeed.
- Alexandrova 6-7 (4-7) 4-6 Bencic
- Belinda Bencic speaking after her victory: “For you guys it was entertaining but for me it was a big stress. It was a difficult moment. You try to serve it out but it was big stress. The atmosphere was unbelievable.”
- On playing Alexandrova: “I think I tried to be more brave. I had more matches under my belt and it turned out better than the last time I played her. I really enjoyed this match inside, maybe you didn’t see that!”
- On reaching the quarters: “I always got stuck in the fourth round. It was so important for me to breakthrough to the quarter-finals. It’s a dream come true. Watching this tournament growing up…it’s crazy, I’m so happy.
- On competing after having a child: “Honestly it’s been really amazing. I’m really proud of myself and the whole team. We did an amazing job coming back. It’s kind of easy still travelling with her but it’s amazing to share the memories together as a family. I’m enjoying it more. I juggle it like every mum does.”
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 0-0 Djokovic
Todd Woodbridge
- Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC Two
- The crowd are giving Djokovic some love.
- That was a fascinating set of tennis with so many breaks of serve. Novak managed kept the pressure on De Minaur once he got the early break. He has found the fire.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-6 0-0 Djokovic

- Novak Djokovic lets out a roar as he levels it up. He’s fired up!
- It was a big missed opportunity for Alex de Minaur in that last game, though.
- He follows in a strong return but then get a bit too much whip on the subsequent forehand – long.
- Let off for Djokovic and he isn’t about to give De Minaur another chance. He serves it out from there.
- It’s a three-set match now.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-5 Djokovic*
Harry Poole
- BBC Sport at Wimbledon
- Novak Djokovic has become much more expressive now. The frustration was building as he struggled to serve out the set, just when it looked as though he was beginning to get some momentum going.
- He pointed to the sky after battling back from 0-30 down, and then whips the crowd into a frenzy as he saves a second break point.
- Centre Court chants his name. He needs them, and they’re with him.
- *De Minaur 6-1 4-5 Djokovic
- Novak Djokovic is furious as, for the second time in quick succession, a net cord works in Alex de Minaur’s favour.
- The second of them brings up a break back point but Djokovic staves it off. He gets to the net again and is able to sway clear of a De Minaur forehand that sails well over the baseline.
- But another forehand finds the net and De Minaur has another break point.
Alexandrova 6-7 (4-7) 4-6 Bencic
- What a response from Belinda Bencic.
- She really put herself through an emotional rollercoaster there but the Swiss breaks Ekaterina Alexandrova to seal a straight-sets victory.
- After squandering five match points on her own service game, she takes a sixth on Alexandrova’s serve.
- She can barely contain her emotion after reaching the quarter-final stage of Wimbledon for the first time.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-5 Djokovic*
- Uh oh.
- Trouble for Novak Djokovic? He gets forward but then put a volley into the net.
- 0-30…
- De Minaur 6-1 4-5 Djokovic*
Todd Woodbridge
- Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC Two
- Very skilful on both sides of the net from De Minaur. He plays so hard and flat. To play like that continuously is so tough.
- There have been some gruelling rallies in this set. Novak has won a few, but the longer the shots go on, the more De Minaur is coming out on top.
- De Minaur 6-1 4-5 Djokovic*
- Two superb backhand winners help Alex de Minaur to a relatively comfortable hold.
- It’s over to Novak Djokovic now. He’ll serve for the second set and will have new balls with which to try and do it.
Alexandrova 6-7 (4-7) 4-5 Bencic
- My word, that game was something else. I don’t know where to start.
- Well, how about with the fact that Ekaterina Alexandrova is still in this match.
- She saved *five* match points as Belinda Bencic just could not get over the line.
- But the Russian saw three of her own break points pass by before taking a fourth.
- How will Bencic respond after that? She was eyeballing her box after every lost point.
- *De Minaur 6-1 3-5 Djokovic
John McEnroe
- Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV
- The crowd are loving this on Centre Court. Potentially some of those extended rallies are having an effect on Novak. He will want to keep points short.
- Great play by De Minaur but Novak is able to slide and get enough on it. It’s an art form that slide, he has been perfecting it for years.
- *De Minaur 6-1 3-5 Djokovic
- An ace down the middle and Novak Djokovic is a game away from levelling this match at one set all.
- Those early wrinkles with his serve have slowly started to iron themselves out.

Harry Poole
- BBC Sport at Wimbledon
- You can’t take your eyes off this one.
- Well, Roger Federer may have temporarily, but I seriously wouldn’t recommend it.
- Five breaks of serve, seven games into set two? Great drama on Centre Court – and it has the near 15,000-strong crowd here absolutely hooked.

- Novak Djokovic gets his nose in front in the set yet again!
- The second time in this set that Alex de Minaur has broken back, only to hand the initiative back to Djokovic immediately.
- The Australian had a chance to make it 15-15 but tries to put too much on a backhand and hammers it into the net.
- Djokovic seizes control from there to break to love.
- That’s five breaks in seven games so far in this second set!

- De Minaur is attacking when given the opportunity. I am surprised Novak keeps trying those drop shots with the little success he has had so far.
- Textbook from De Minaur. He angled forward and took it a little earlier than Novak thought he would which game him the chance to break.
- De Minaur has had 13 break points in this match so far. Amazing!

- We’re back on serve again! Superb from Alex de Minaur.
- He’s gifted another break point when Novak Djokovic puts a drop shot into the net but that time De Minaur can’t convert.
- However, a fantastic return – getting out wide and drilling a forehand just over the net to find the corner – brings up another.
- This time he won’t be stopped. The 26-year-old breaks back for the second time in the set.

- Roger Federer is sat with his arms folded as, like the rest of us, he watches with intrigue as Novak Djokovic tries to shake off what has been a tough opening hour.
- There are signs that Djokovic is beginning to find his level now, not least when he interacted with the crowd for the first time after restoring his second-set advantage.
- With that, Federer leaves the Royal Box, perhaps deciding that Djokovic will not let this slip again from here…

- What a huge break from Belinda Bencic.
- She goes 30-0 down, with Ekaterina Alexandrova looking like she’s cruising to a hold.
- But the Swiss wins four points in a row before crashing an irretrievable forehand down the line to break.

- Highly skilled play from Djokovic. A nice hold to love after some long games in this set previously.
- Early in this match, Novak was trying to find his range on his serve and that allowed De Minaur to find his groove.
- An important hold of serve for both players.

- Flavio Cobolli is enjoying this moment and why shouldn’t he.
- He spends time throwing his sweatbands into the crowd and raises his arms in the air to take the adulation from the crowd.
- A huge celebration with his team at the end with his family in tears. Lovely moments.
- By contrast there was a pointed wave to all four corners of the court by Marin Cilic as his run comes to an end. Is that the last we’ll see of Cilic at SW19? Who knows.
- De Minaur 6-1 2-3 Djokovic*
- Alex de Minaur’s turn for a simple hold.
- The Australian comes in behind a strong first set and whips a forehand down the line to secure the hold to love.
- Novak Djokovic is still a break up as he tries to level the match at a set apiece. It’s all bubbling up nicely now.

- There have been some long old games in this set so far… but not this one.

- De Minaur needs to keep the momentum he has been building.
- Djokovic is finding the thunder he has been looking for. He ramps it up in the second set once again. 34 strokes in that point; both were playing it reasonably safe.
- We knew Novak would find something eventually.
- Alexandrova 6-7 (4-7) 3-3 Bencic*
- Ekaterina Alexandrova is really digging in here.
- Belinda Bencic has upped her level in this second set – keeping the momentum that helped her to win the tie-break.

- Marin Cilic’s insane Wimbledon run is over, but it is a maiden major quarter-final for Italy’s Flavio Cobolli!
- Raphael Collignon, Jack Draper and Jaume Munar couldn’t defeat the Croat – but Flavio Cobolli was certainly up for the challenge today on court two, winning 6-4 6-4 6-7 (4-7) 7-6 (7-3).
- The pair battled it out for three hours and 25 minutes, playing out two tie-breaks, but the 36-year-old just couldn’t stage a comeback.
- Cobolli rushes over to his dad and his coaching to soak up the moment. There are tears from former player Stefano Cobolli – and rightly so.

- Novak Djokovic breaks again!
- A long, long rally – 34 strokes in total, the longest of the tournament – ends with Alex de Minaur wearily sending a backhand slice wide.

Harry Poole

- Wow. As that went on, it felt an increasingly vital game for Novak Djokovic, particularly on a psychological level while he’s clearly operating well below 100%.
- An audible groan followed from the Serb when he handed Alex de Minaur a fourth break point, he stared at the ground as the Australian made his way to a fifth, and he waved his arms in frustration when he was hauled back to a ninth deuce. He manages not to give much away as the game slips away.
- His plan late in the first set may have been to just be ready to go again in set two, but the consistency just isn’t there for him right now – plus, in stark contrast, De Minaur looks bang up for this.

- British duo Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski are currently battling against Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni on court 12, for a last-16 spot in the men’s doubles.
- The sixth seeds absolutely raced through the first set in 27 minutes, but were forced to a second set tie-break by their Argentinian opponents.
- Gonzalez and Molteni left everything out on the court to keep themselves in the match, saving two match points and playing a couple of magnificent points to close it out at 9-7.
- After taking to the court one hour and 45 minutes ago, Salisbury and Skupski have a 3-0 advantage in the deciding set after taking an early break.

- Superb serve out wide from Novak Djokovic to save the fourth break point.
- But a risky drop shot from the Serb follows and Alex de Minaur races in and slaps the ball cross-court for a winner.

- Another break point goes begging for Alex de Minaur with a forehand sent well long.

John McEnroe

- Half a chance for Alex de Minaur at 30-30 but he pushes his backhand just wide.
- However, Novak Djokovic dumps a backhand tamely into the net to take it to deuce and De Minaur’s backhand wrong-foots the Serb at the next to bring up a break back point.
- A wayward forehand sees the chance slip away for De Minaur but Djokovic still has to finish this game off…
- Alexandrova 6-7 (4-7) 1-1 Bencic

- A couple of excellent opening points quickly suggested he has already moved on from a puzzling opening half an hour, and we have confirmation as he claims an immediate break.
- The crowd have really got behind the 38-year-old in the last 10 minutes or so, sensing he needs a hand to get himself going in this one. But he really is the best in the business at swiftly moving on from any setback.

- If Roger Federer is a little concerned about his record being broken then here’s a man who can relate…
- Cricketing great Brian Lara was enjoying himself in the Royal Box yesterday, this morning he’ll have been sweating over losing his Test record score.

- Speaking of Roger Federer…
- It’s nearly three years since he retired now but the great man will always draw a crowd at Wimbledon – even if he’s just in the Royal Box.
- Magnanimous as he may be, there must be a part of the eight-time Wimbledon champion hoping for an Alex de Minaur win this afternoon to make sure he keeps his record outright for a little longer.

- First up, it’s 11th seed Alex de Minaur on Centre Court.

- Cameron Norrie, the sole British quarter-finalist in the men’s and women’s singles, has a well-earned day off after his five-set win over Nicolas Jarry on Sunday.
- Therefore, home interest on Monday is focused on the doubles and junior events.
- The bottom half of the men’s doubles is stacked with British players and quarter-final spots are on offer for fifth seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool and sixth seeds Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski, as well as second seeds Henry Patten and his Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara.
- Meanwhile, the mixed doubles has already reached the quarter-final stage.
- British pair Joshua Paris and Eden Silva are there, while Salisbury – alongside Brazilian Luisa Stefani – and Skupski – who is playing with American Desirae Krawczyk – are also in the hunt for semi-final places.
- Among the Britons in action in the girls’ singles are Mimi Xu and second seed Hannah Klugman, who lost in the French Open final last month.
- Both were given wildcards into the women’s draw at Wimbledon but were beaten in round one.
