At least three people, including a New York City police officer, were killed in a shooting at a midtown Manhattan office building that houses some of the country’s top financial firms and the NFL, the Associated Press reported.
The gunman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to authorities. The New York Times, citing law enforcement sources, identified the gunman as Shane Devon Tamura, 27, of Las Vegas.
A photograph posted online showed a Black man carrying a rifle, striding along a city street. He was wearing sunglasses, a blue jacket, black trousers and sneakers.
CNN cited law enforcement officials as saying the man had a concealed-carry license for a handgun.
