After a thrilling end to their latest homestand, the Detroit Tigers open up a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.
The Tigers had a rough go last weekend against the Texas Rangers, dropping two of three against the American League West foe, getting outscored 17-6.
Yet, the team responded in a big way against the Red Sox. Detroit hammered Boston in the first game of the series on Monday night, 14-2. Then, the teams went down to the wire in back-to-back games. Javier Baez’s three-run home run in the 11th gave the Tigers a 10-9 win on Tuesday, before Justyn-Henry Malloy hit a walk-off single in the ninth to give the team a 6-5 victory.

The Tigers end the six-game homestand with a 4-2 record, extending their home record to 17-5. They currently have the best record in Major League Baseball.
Now, the Tigers head to Canada for their lone road series against the Blue Jays, a team that has been inconsistent this year, but has been playing some good baseball as of late.
