What happens to MLB Speedway Classic if it rains? Here’s Braves-Reds weather plan

MLB and Bristol Motor Speedway have a plan in place if inclement weather affects the MLB Speedway Classic on Aug. 2.

The Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds would play on Aug. 3 if the game has to be postponed due to weather. Both the Braves and Reds have a scheduled off day on Aug. 3 to allow for the weather contingency.

The Weather Channel lists less than a 25% chance of rain with the game slated for 7:15 p.m. ET (FOX). The temperature is projected to range between 62 and 79 degrees on Aug. 2.

MLB announced July 28 that more than 85,000 tickets have been sold, which would mark the highest attendance for a single regular-season game in Major League Baseball history. That would eclipse the previous record of 84,587, set on Sept. 12, 1954, when the New York Yankees played Cleveland at Cleveland Stadium.
