Yahoo Mail down globally: Thousands of users report facing issues while accessing the service

Yahoo Mail, one of the world’s oldest email services, is currently experiencing a widespread outage. The disruption began on the evening of July 24, 2025, affecting thousands of users globally. Reports indicate issues ranging from login failures to server errors, with both individual and business users impacted.

Massive outage hits Yahoo Mail

According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, user complaints began spiking around 9:30 PM IST. Within minutes, the number of reported issues crossed 10,000. The disruption appears to be global, affecting users in India, the US, and other countries.

Users report login and server errors

Around 74% of the complaints are related to server connection issues. About 16% of users are unable to send emails, while 11% are facing trouble logging into their accounts. Many are seeing “Temporary Error 15” when attempting to access their inbox.

Complaints flood social media

Users took to social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), to express frustration. One Indian user posted, “YAHOO MAIL IS NOT WORKING RIGHT NOW IN INDIA IT IS SHOWING TEMPORARY ERROR 15… KINDLY GET IT REDRESSED AND RECTIFIED.” Another user questioned, “Yahoo mail not working! I don’t know why I still use it as my main email!?”

Some users also noted that AOL Mail, another email service owned by Yahoo’s parent company, was down at the same time.

As of this writing, Yahoo has not issued any official statement regarding the outage or its cause. There is also no estimated time for restoration of services.
