Texas flooding live updatesRescue effort enters a third day as dozens remain missing

At least 51 people have been confirmed dead by the floods that swept through a region of Central Texas known as “Flash Flood Alley,” as a frantic search-and-rescue operation continues for countless more who remain missing, including 27 girls from a beloved summer camp on the Guadalupe River. City Manager Dalton Rice of Kerrville, one of the hardest-hit areas, told reporters Saturday evening that the search for survivors would continue through the night, though heavy rains continued in areas outside San Antonio and flash-flood warnings and watches remained in effect for parts of the area, dimming hopes that others could be found alive. Fifteen children are confirmed to be among the dead, and authorities expect the toll to rise.
