The suspect in the Walmart stabbing in Traverse City has been identified asBradford Gille, 42 of Afton Michigan. The sheriff’s office is asking he becharged with terrorism and 11 counts of assault with intent to murder. (WPBN)
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office is requesting Bradford Gille, 42 of Afton Michigan, be charged with terrorism and 11 counts of assault with intent to murder after a stabbing at the Traverse City Walmart Sunday.
Sheriff Mike Shea at a Sunday press conference said Gille has a history of assaultive incidents and controlled substance violations.
Shea alongside County Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg, Munson Medical Center President Joe Hurshe and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tom Schermerhorn held a briefing Sunday.
Moeggenberg said her office is looking to authorize charges Monday.
Schermerhorn said one victim has been released from the hospital. 10 remain in the hospital’s care,

Shea acknowledged bystanders who confronted Gille following the stabbing. He thanked them and commended their bravery, while asking media to consider their privacy, noting, “what they did is amazing.”
