Shedeur Sanders NFL mock draft: Four landing spots for Colorado QB after fall

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been the biggest story in the 2025 NFL Draft. The former Buffaloes star was expected to be taken in Round 1 but remains undrafted through the first two days of the event.

Multiple quarterbacks have gone ahead of him. Miami’s Cam Ward was expected to go No. 1 overall and did. But Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, Louisville’s Tyler Shough, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel have all been selected ahead of Sanders, to the surprise of many analysts.

The bulk of the draft happens on Day 3 and all 32 NFL teams have multiple picks to fill out their rosters. At least one of them will likely take a chance on Sanders.

Here are four potential landing spots:

Pittsburgh Steelers

This is the most popular one given the state of the Steelers’ quarterback room. Mason Rudolph is currently slated to be the starter and that’s not ideal for a team with playoff aspirations. Sanders could be a pick on Day 3 that could at least have a chance to raise the floor of the offense.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are armed with plenty of picks on Day 3 and Tua Tagovailoa’s injury history means the team needs good options at the backup quarterback position. Sanders thrives on timing and accuracy, something the Dolphins’ offense relies on to function best.

Las Vegas Raiders

It’d be a big name for the Raiders to get Sanders in the building. Las Vegas already acquired Geno Smith earlier this offseason but he’ll turn 35 this season. Sanders could potentially be a succession plan for Smith in a few years’ time.

Dallas Cowboys

This would be doing the former Super Bowl champion and Shedeur Sanders’ father Deion a solid. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones certainly wouldn’t mind the extra attention and this would only increase the volume on rumors of Deion as a future Cowboys coach. In the meantime, Sanders would be a potential backup to Dak Prescott or third-stringer behind Joe Milton.
