FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Rapper GloRilla was arrested in Georgia this week after her home was burglarized.
According to jail records obtained by 11Alive, GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was arrested Tuesday for possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance.
Records also show a burglary took place shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday at her home in Forsyth County, about 40 miles away from Atlanta, two days before her arrest.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to Woods’ home after three suspects had entered the house and were stealing items, when someone began firing at the intruders. The suspects ran away when gunfire erupted.
According to the sheriff’s office, no injuries were reported from the incident. After an extensive search with the sheriff’s office K-9 and drone teams, the suspects were not located.
As deputies were investigating, they found marijuana in the master bedroom closet. The sheriff’s office charged Woods with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance.
Woods turned herself into the Forsyth County Jail and was later released on the same day on a $22,260 bond, the sheriff’s office said.
“The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,” Sheriff Ron Freeman said in a statement. “At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
According to a statement from the rapper’s attorney, Drew Findling, Woods was out of town at the time of the burglary. She had family members staying at the home who were “traumatized” by the group who took jewelry — before they realized the home wasn’t empty.
“When her family members did the right thing and called law enforcement, instead of investigating the violent home invasion and theft at Ms. Woods’ home, they instead sought a search warrant when they spotted what they believed was a small amount of marijuana,” Findling added in the statement.
On the night of her home burglary, Woods had been performing for the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.
11Alive has requested the incident report about this incident and will update this story as more details become available.

Last April, Woods was arrested for DUI in Gwinnett County, among other charges.
