An absolutely imperious, dominant, awe-inspiring performance from the Champions of Europe today means that Sunday’s Club World Cup final will be between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, who had absolutely zero trouble in dispatching Real Madrid in their semifinal.
The match was effectively over inside of ten minutes, with PSG mercilessly punishing two mistakes from Raúl Asencio and Antonio Rüdiger, then quickly adding a third with a flowing counter-attacking move in the 24th minute — by which point they really could’ve been up by six, not just three.
Even with that massive lead, Real could hardly muster much threat, as PSG dominated every facet of the 90 minutes, from possession, to chances, to shots, to recoveries, to etc, etc, etc. They are truly an absolute juggernaut at the moment, and we’re going to need a minor miracle on Sunday.
But hey, you never know what’s written in the stars…
