Plane crash reported near Lancaster Airport, five aboard, injuries still unknown

MANHEIM TWP., Pa. – We are following reports of a plane crash on a roadway in the middle of a neighborhood in Manheim Township, Lancaster County, on Sunday afternoon. 

Lancaster County Communications confirmed to WFMZ that there was a plane crash near the Lancaster Airport. 

Associated Press reports that five people were aboard on the plane, which crashed in the areas of Fairview Drive and Meadowview Court in Manheim Township, only minutes from the Lancaster Airport. 

An official with the Manheim Township Police Department says the aircraft went down just south of the Lancaster Airport shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday.

Five people were on board the plane and it crashed into several vehicles on the ground. 

Information about injuries or fatalities was not immediately available. Footage shared on social media showed black smoke billowing from the wreckage of the plane and multiple vehicles engulfed in flames.

The plane’s records show that it was owned by a company called JAM ZOOM YAYOS LLC.
