The Padres and Phillies will play a doubleheader Wednesday after heavy rain in the forecast caused Tuesday night’s game to be postponed.

The first game Wednesday is scheduled to begin at the original start time of 10:05 a.m. PT. The second game is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. PT.

Wednesday will mark the Padres’ first doubleheader of the season.

Nick Pivetta, who was scheduled to start Tuesday, is expected to start Wednesday afternoon’s game with Dylan Cease starting the nightcap.

The forecast seems favorable for Wednesday. If one or both games are affected by weather, the Padres would likely have to come back to Philadelphia at some point, even though both teams are off Thursday. The Padres have their annual “Dinner in the Diamond” charity event scheduled for Thursday night at Petco Park.
