GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Texas edge rusher Barryn Sorrell attended the NFL Draft on Saturday at Lambeau Field and talk about great timing.
Sorrell, who actually had been in Green Bay since Wednesday, was picked by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the draft, and he was able to walk on stage, put on a Packers hat and greet his new fans.
“Just so blessed and thankful,” Sorrell said. “It couldn’t have turned out better.”
The Packers did not know Sorrell was at the draft.
“Some things are just meant to be,” Packers director of football operations Milt Hendrickson said.
Sorrell, the 124th overall pick, is 6-3, 256 pounds, had a productive final season with the Longhorns as he played all 16 games and registered 44 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks.

Sorrell is durable as he played in every game in each of his last three seasons, and one scouting report said he could be a starter down the road.
