Over 16K customers without power throughout Las Vegas Valley

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Over 16,000 residents are without power in the Las Vegas Valley Tuesday afternoon.

NV Energy’s website shows 59 outages affecting 16,158 NV Energy customers as of 3 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Clark County area.

The majority of customers without power are in the 89032, 89106, 89108, and 89121 area zip codes. Most of the outages are being investigated, according to NV Energy’s website.

FOX5 looked to FlightAware’s website to see if the power outages are impacting flights. As of Tuesday afternoon, over 200 flights are delayed, with only five cancelled.
