LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Crews in Lafayette are on the scene of a fatal crash.

The crash happened Thursday afternoon at 5850 U.S. Highway 52 South.

Officials told WLFI the crash involved the Purdue Boilermaker Special and a passenger car. One person in the car was killed.

The two occupants from the Boilermaker Special were transported to a local hospital.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
