NFL Rumors: Patriots Agree To Terms With Standout Defender

The Patriots are on the board.

New England agreed to terms with standout linebacker Robert Spillane, as first reported by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported it was a three-year, $37.5 million deal.

Spillane will be able to sign the contract when the league year officially begins Wednesday.

The 29-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders with a career-high 158 tackles in 2024. He had at least 10 tackles in eight different games.

The 6-foot-1, 229-pound Spillane was in Tennessee during Mike Vrabel’s first season with the Titans. He played two games in Nashville before the undrafted free agent got waived. He went on to play four seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
