- The Houston Texans have agreed to a one-year, $4.25 million contract with veteran guard Laken Tomlinson that has a maximum value of $5 million, NFL Network reports.
- Tomlinson, 32, has played 10 NFL seasons, most recently with the Seattle Seahawks. He’s been the picture of consistency throughout his career, having played in at least 15 games in each of his seasons. All but eight of the 163 games he’s played have been starts.

- The Carolina Panthers announced on Tuesday that they are releasing running back Miles Sanders.
- The 27-year-old Sanders spent two seasons in Carolina after beginning his NFL career in 2019 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played 11 games in 2024, picking up 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns while also catching 24 balls for 148 yards and a score.
- The Kansas City Chiefs have a new starting cornerback. Per ESPN, the Chiefs are signing former Chargers cornerback Kristian Fulton to a two-year, $20 million contract with $15 million guaranteed.
- A five-year NFL veteran, Fulton played his first four seasons with the Titans before a single season in Los Angeles in 2024. He has five career interceptions and 32 career passes defended in 57 games, including 51 starts.
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are signing punter Riley Dixon to a two-year, $6 million contract, NFL Network reports. Dixon, 31, has played nine NFL seasons and has spent the last two seasons with the Denver Broncos.
- According to ESPN’s Stephen Holder, quarterback Daniel Jones has narrowed down his options to either the Minnesota Vikings or Indianapolis Colts.
- Jones, 27, spent parts of six seasons with the New York Giants before he was released in late November. He would join the Vikings’ practice squad before later being promoted to the active roster for the remainder of the 2024 season.
- If he returns to the Vikings, Jones could serve as a bridge to 2024 first-rounder pick J.J. McCarthy who missed last season with a torn his meniscus in his knee. The Colts are expecting an “open” competition at quarterback with Anthony Richardon having an up-and-down start to his NFL career.
- After adding Jonathan Allen, the Minnesota Vikings will reportedly sign defensive tackle Javon Hargrave once his release from the San Francisco 49ers is official on Wednesday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
- Hargave, 32, is a two-time Pro Bowler. He played only three games last season after suffering a partial tear in his right triceps. Over his nine-year NFL career with the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers, Hargrave has 45.5 sacks and 380 total tackles.
- Will Fries heads to the Minnesota Vikings on a five-year, $88 million deal. The 26-year-old guard spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts.
- He missed the final 12 games of the 2024 season after suffered a fractured right tibia.
- Ifeatu Melifonwu has signed a one-year, $4 million deal to leave the Detroit Lions for the Dolphins, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
- The move comes after fellow safety Jevon Holland moved on to the New York Giants.
- Injuries limited Melifonwu to only three games last season. In 2023, he had two interceptions, 31 total tackles and three sacks with the Lions.
- The New York Giants are adding to their secondary after reportedly reaching an agreement to sign former Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It’s a three-year, $45 million deal.
- Holland, 25, is entering his fifth NFL season after being a 2021 second-round pick by the Dolphins out of Oregon.
- In five seasons with the Dolphins he recorded five sacks, five interceptions and 296 total tackles.
- After spending the first eight seasons of his NFL career with the Washington Commanders, 30-year-old Jonathan Allen is moving on to the Minnesota Vikings, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
- Allen, a two-time Pro Bowler, played just eight games last season after suffering a partially tear of his left pectoral muscle. In 109 career games, Allen has recorded 42 sacks an 401 total tackles, including 60 for a los.
- After being unable to find a trade partner after receiving permission from the Commanders, Washington released the veteran defensive tackle last week.
- We have another NFC East swap. The New York Giants reached a three-year, $19.5 million deal with former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Chauncey Golston on Monday night, according to the NFL Network.
- Golston is coming off an incredible season in Dallas, which took him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He had 56 total tackles, 5.5 sacks and an interception, all of which were career-highs for the former Iowa standout.
- Cowboys star Micah Parsons wasn’t too happy about it, either.
- The Cowboys made a second free agency move on Monday night. They struck a one-year, $4.75 million deal with offensive lineman Rob Jones, according to multiple reports.
- Jones has spent the last four years with the Dolphins, and he started all 17 games for the team last season. He should be a solid veteran presence on their line this fall.

- The Vikings have secured the services of their top secondary defender. Per NFL Network, Minnesota and cornerback Byron Murphy have agreed to a three-year, $66 million contract.
- Murphy made his first Pro Bowl in 2024 and is now awarded with a significant pay raise after earning a total of $27 million over the first five seasons of his career.
- In 17 games last season, Murphy tallied six interceptions, 14 passes defended, 81 tackles and a forced fumble. He allowed opposing quarterbacks a 76.7 passer rating when targeting him, a career-best mark.
- Chase Young has failed to live up to the expectations that made him the No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft.
- But Saints like what they’ve seen enough to bet on his upside. Per NFL Network, New Orleans is re-signing Young to a three-year contract worth $51 million that could escalate to $57 million.
- Young gets the long-term deal after playing on a 1-year $13 million contract for the Saints in 2024.
- And Najee Harris to the Chargers is happening. The two sides reached a one-year, $9.5 million deal on Monday night, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He’ll now attempt to pick up a fifth 1,000-yard season in Los Angeles this fall.
- Kyle Juszczyk’s run in San Francisco is over. The 49ers released the fullback on Monday night, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Juszczyk has been with the franchise since 2017, and he’s earned nine Pro-Bowl nods while helping the team reach the Super Bowl twice.
- The 33-year-old had 200 receiving yards and three total touchdowns last season, his 12th in the league. Juszczyk will now hit free agency, and wants to continue playing.
- The Bengals will re-sign free-agent defensive end Joseph Ossai to a one-year, $7 million contract, NFL Network reports. A three-year veteran with the Bengals, Ossai played in all 17 games last season, including three starts. He tallied five sacks, 15 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and 46 total tackles.
- The Los Angeles Chargers are apparently working to bring in running back Najee Harris, according to the NFL Network. While a deal is not yet official, Harris would be a great addition for the Chargers this fall.
- He had 1,043 yards and six touchdowns last season with the Steelers, and he has ran for at least 1,000 yards in all four of his seasons in the league.
