The Milwaukee area should be over the hump, so to speak, in terms of rainfall.
While there is a chance for more rain through Monday, Milwaukee-Sullivan National Weather Service meteorologist Sarah Marquardt said they’re not expecting anything close to the flooding that occurred overnight Aug. 9-10.
“Maybe one to two inches in total through tomorrow night,” Marquardt said. “Lighter rainfall amounts, and then some heavier downpours too. Off-and-on rain showers and thunderstorms through Monday night.”
Even though there is still a chance for heavy downpours, Marquardt said two inches is likely the most that will accumulate.
The NWS’s flood warning is scheduled to end Aug. 10 at 7 p.m., while the flood watch is in effect until Aug. 11 at 7 a.m.
After Monday, the chances of thunderstorms goes down to 30% before the sun is slated to return Aug. 13.
