Millie Bobby Brown called out the “bullying” she has been receiving over her appearance lately in a passionate new video.

Since Brown debuted platinum blonde locks in February, many people on the internet have been saying she looks too old for her age — a critique the Stranger Things star addressed last week. But she didn’t stop there.

On Monday, March 3, the 21-year-old British actress posted a video on Instagram asking the people picking apart her look and shaming her for looking older to stop.

“I started in this industry when I was 10 years old. I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me,” Brown remarked. “Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things Season 1. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

The Enola Holmes actress called out multiple articles that critique her image and named the journalists who wrote them, saying they “are so desperate to tear young women down.”

“This isn’t journalism. This is bullying. The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing,” Brown continued. “The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse. We always talk about supporting and uplifting young women, but when the time comes, it seems easier to tear them down for clicks.”

The Florence by Mills beauty guru — who married Jon Bon Jovi’s son Jake Bongiovi in 2024 — made it clear she would not hold herself back from aging or change her appearance to appease others.

“Disillusioned people can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs. I refuse to apologize for growing up,” the British noted. “I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman. I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself.”

Last month, Brown reposted an article titled “No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks,” published by British Vogue. Writing,”thank you” on her Instagram Story.
