Following last night’s big loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, Logan Gilbert will take the mound in the hopes of tying the three-game series and forcing a rubber match tomorrow. With only 62 games left in the season, we’re entering the sprint phase. Every game is important.
Lineups:
The Brewers are the hottest team in baseball right now, with last night’s win pushing them to 60 wins with 11 in a row. Slowing them down is a big ask, and we’ll see if Logan Gilbert is up to it. The right hander is sitting at 799 career strikeouts, and will look to become the 7th Mariners pitcher to reach 800 tonight. In his two previous starts against Milwaukee he’s struggled, allowing 4 runs in both games, but perhaps tonight we’ll see some regression for Walter.
On the other side, the Brewers are sending out whizz kid Misiorowski, who’s debut season has been frankly absurd. The All-Star pitcher is just 23 but has been dominant through his young career, blasting through the minors in just three years. He’s made just 5 starts at the major league level so far, sporting a 2.18 ERA and 11.6 K/9 in 25.2 IP.
