In its statement on Thursday, Lincoln’s company wrote that the actress and audition coach “left an unforgettable mark on Hollywood through her dynamic performances and dedication to mentoring aspiring actors” throughout her 45-year career.

Born in Dallas in 1961, Lincoln’s earliest roles included the 1985 TV film Children of the Night, and multiple TV series including Outlaws and Hunter.

From there, she found success portraying teenager Tina Shepard on The New Blood, which marked the seventh installment in the popular Friday the 13th franchise. The character, who had telekinetic abilities, ended up coming face-to-face with Jason Voorhees in the film — but it wasn’t her only stab at the slasher genre. She also notably appeared in the horror television series Freddy’s Nightmares for a 1988 episode.

Jennifer Banko, who appeared in the Friday the 13th film with Lincoln, shared a tribute to Instagram on Thursday.

“Thank you for being so kind to me as a child on the set of my first movie,” she wrote. “It has been an honor to play you younger. I’m saddened that you won’t be sitting next to me at Crypticon KC this year I was really looking forward to putting my arms around you. Forever our Scream Queen. Forever our Tina Shepard. RIP Queen WE L❤️VE Y🥰U 😢😢😢”

In CBS’ Knots Landing, which Lincoln joined in 1987, the actress took on the role of Karen Fairgate’s daughter-in-law Linda for the show’s ninth season. She returned two seasons later before her character was murdered in the soap’s 13th season. According to Variety, she also played a character named Sally’s friend on the show and appeared as a dead body for eight episodes.

“I would guess Linda was popular because she was so rotten and so fun at the same time,” Lincoln said in 2022, per THR. “I studied a few people to become Linda, as she went from the brown hair to the blond meanie. I remember having lunch with [creator] David Jacobs when he told me that they were changing my hair to blond and he said, ‘I’m doing this because you look so sweet and everyone will be shocked how you turn out.’”

Following her Knots Landing run, the actress went on to appear in episodes of Murder, She Wrote, Space: Above and Beyond, Beverly Hills: 90210 and the 2019 short film Harvest. She last appeared on screen in the 2022 film Ghost Party.

Per Actors Audition Studios, Lincoln was the recipient of the Bronze Halo Award for her contributions to entertainment. She also published a book in 2008, Get Started Not Scammed, and had worked as a QVC celebrity guest host.

Lincoln is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband of 14 years, Michael. She is survived by her daughter, Piper (husband Tarek), son, Trevor (wife Danielle), sister, Karen (husband Harold) and brother, Michael (wife Joan). She leaves behind four grandchildren, her poodle and other loved ones.

“The family requests privacy during this time and is grateful for the outpouring of love over Lar’s four-decade career,” the company’s statement read. “In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The SAG-AFTRA Foundation or The Entertainment Community Fund.”
