Jon Moxley Retains World Championship at AEW Revolution

Jon Moxley defended his AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution, defeating former TNT Champion Cope. Since winning the title from Bryan Danielson, Moxley and his faction, Death Riders, have dominated the AEW roster, causing chaos at every turn.

At AEW Worlds End, Cope made a bold return from injury, confronting Moxley and setting his sights on the championship. Determined to weaken Moxley’s support system, Cope systematically took out PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Marina Shafir, leaving the champion without his key allies.

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Cope successfully eliminated most of Moxley’s faction members but spared Wheeler Yuta, the youngest member of the Death Riders. After their match, Cope showed Yuta respect, sparking a tense confrontation between Moxley and Yuta, further escalating tensions within the faction.

Despite fighting without the Death Riders by his side, Moxley overcame the odds and retained his World Championship in a chaotic main event at AEW Revolution.

Chaos erupted in the final moments of the match as Cope came within inches of capturing the AEW World Championship. After delivering two devastating spears to Jon Moxley, Cope went for the pin, but a hooded figure suddenly pulled the referee out of the ring.

The mystery attacker revealed himself as Christian Cage, who stopped the official from calling for a disqualification. Instead, Cage shocked everyone by announcing that he was cashing in his AEW World Championship opportunity. Back at AEW All In, Cage won the Casino Gauntlet Match, earning the right to challenge for the title at any time of his choosing.

With Cage’s sudden cash-in, the match turned into a Triple Threat showdown for the AEW World Championship. Wasting no time, Cage speared Cope and hit him with the Killswitch for the pin. However, Moxley charged in and locked Cage in a brutal Bulldog Choke.

Christian Cage struggled but eventually passed out, forcing the referee to stop the match, allowing Jon Moxley to retain his World Championship in a dramatic finish. However, Moxley’s celebration was short-lived, as his next challenger, Swerve Strickland, attacked him with a Swerve Stomp, sending a clear message to the champion.
