The NFL has fined the Atlanta Falcons $250,000, and their defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich $100,000, after Shedeur Sanders’ phone number was leaked during the NFL Draft, ESPN reported. Ulbrich makes $1.6 million at Falcons, as per a report by Front Office Sports.

The incident involved Ulbrich’s 21-year-old son, Jax Ulbrich, who admitted to making the prank call and apologized in an Instagram post on Sunday. According to a statement from the Falcons, Jax copied the phone number from his father’s unlocked iPad while visiting his parents’ home, to make a prank call later.

The NFL stated that the fines were issued because the team and Ulbrich were “failing to prevent the disclosure of confidential information distributed to the club in advance of the NFL Draft,” reported ESPN.

According to Front Office Sports, Ulbrich signed a deal with the Falcons worth $1.6 million per year. His salary places him on the top 10 highest-paid defensive coordinators list in the league. He is ranked ninth out of 32.

The highest-paid defensive coordinator in the NFL is Vic Fangio, who now coaches with the Philadelphia Eagles. He earns an estimated $4.5 million annually, as reported by NBC Sports, Pro Football Network, and ESPN UK.
