During his post-match media obligation, Sinner said, “I checked the videos a little bit, and [the fall] didn’t seem a tough one, but I still felt it quite a lot, especially [on the] serve and forehand. I could feel it. So let’s see. Tomorrow we are going to check to see how it is, and then we’ll see.”

A story from the ATP Tour outlines that Sinner recently split from his physiotherapist and trainer, and the 23-year-old will work with the ATP Tour’s medical staff to identify the issues with his elbow.

Sinner has won 12 consecutive sets with Shelton, but the injury complicates things ahead of their matchup. As it stands, Sinner and Shelton are set to meet in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, July 9, meaning Sinner will have around 48 hours to treat his elbow, should the injury be one he can overcome.
