NEW YORK (WPIX) – July 11 isn’t just National French Fry Day — it’s also the date 7-Eleven has designated “Slurpee Day.”

As part of an annual tradition, the convenience store chain is giving away free small Slurpee drinks to customers who visit a participating location of 7-Eleven, Speedway or Stripes on Friday, while supplies last.

Also this year, customers at stores in select cities can score a temporary tongue tattoo, which can be previewed in promotional materials shared to 7-Eleven’s social media accounts.

“This year, 7-Eleven is introducing ”Tongue-toos,’ first of-its-kind temporary tongue tattoos that are activated by a single taste of a Slurpee drink,” reads a press release issued ahead of Slurpee Day. “Just apply the tattoo on the tongue after a sip, and watch it appear like magic.”

Customers must belong to the 7-Eleven Rewards program to redeem a “Tongue-too.” They’re available only at select 7-Eleven and Speedway stores in the following metro areas:

  • 7-Eleven: Chicago; Dallas-Ft. Worth; Denver, Washington, D.C.; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Minneapolis-St. Paul; New York City; Norfolk, Virginia; Orlando, Philadelphia; San Diego; and Tampa
  • Speedway: Albuquerque; Chicago; Cincinnati; Cleveland; Columbus; Dayton; Detroit; Grand Rapids; Greenville, North Carolina; Indianapolis; Louisville, Kentucky; and Minneapolis-St. Paul

Exact store locations participating in the “Tongue-too” giveaway are listed here.

In addition to a free Slurpee, 7-Eleven is also giving customers a coupon for an additional free Slurpee if they scan their Rewards information on July 11.
