Israel has agreed to U.S. President Donald Trump’s mutual ceasefire proposal to end the conflict with Iran but vowed to “respond forcefully” to any violation of the truce, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said.

“Last night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened the Cabinet together with the Minister of Defense, the IDF Chief of Staff, and the Head of the Mossad, to report that Israel has achieved all the objectives of Operation ‘Am K’Lavi’ (‘With the Strength of a Lion’), and even far beyond that,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.

Israel has eliminated an immediate existential double threat in the nuclear domain and in the field of ballistic missiles, according to the statement.

The Israeli Defense Forces have also achieved “full air superiority” over Tehran’s skies, dealt a severe blow to the military leadership and destroyed dozens of key Iranian government targets, the statement said.

In the past 24 hours, the IDF attacked government targets in the heart of Tehran and eliminated another senior nuclear scientist, it said.

But the statement emphasized that Israel will “respond forcefully” to any violation of the ceasefire.

“This is a tremendous success for the people of Israel and its fighters, who have eliminated the two existential threats to our country and ensured the eternity of Israel,” it added.
