Hulk Hogan Remembered by Brooke Shields, Sylvester Stallone, Mario Lopez and More: “Absolutely Wonderful”

Brooke Shields, J.D. Vance, Piers Morgan and Donald Trump Jr. are among the Hollywood stars and public figures mourning Hulk Hogan after he died on Thursday at the age of 71.

Hogan’s Real American Freestyle amateur wrestling league partner Eric Bischoff confirmed his death to The Hollywood Reporter after TMZ reported that medical personnel were sent to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida. The operators stated that they were called to the home after the wrestler suffered a “cardiac arrest.”

Fox Nation was set to be the exclusive broadcast partner for Hogan and Bischoff’s Real American Freestyle wrestling league.

In a statement, Fox Nation president Lauren Petterson said, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Hulk Hogan who single handedly shaped the world of professional wrestling and inspired millions around the world. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and his many fans.”

Brooke Shields remembered Hogan by sharing a photo of the duo arm wrestling as Kathy Griffin stood behind them. “Rest easy, Hulk. This moment and his entire guest episode on ‘Suddenly Susan’ was a true highlight,” she wrote via Instagram. “Sending love to all of his loved ones today.”

Sylvester Stallone, who starred in Rocky III alongside Hogan, wrote via Instagram, “I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old. He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he’s gone…”

Mario Lopez also shared a photo with Hogan on Instagram. “Grew up running wild like a true Hulkamaniac. The only celebrity I’ve ever been truly starstruck by when I met,” he wrote. “Hearing about Hulk Hogan’s passing hits deep — feels like a piece of my childhood is gone. The bandana, the flex, the leg drop, the larger-than-life energy… he was the superhero for so many of us. Rest easy brother… Forever a legend.”

Meanwhile, Jake Paul took the opportunity to reflect on his time with Hogan. “Always appreciated your kind words and encouragement,” he wrote via X. “Hulk Hogan brought WWE to the masses globally. Rest easy,”

Vice President J.D. Vance also took to X to pay tribute to the late wrestler. “Hulk Hogan was a great American icon. One of the first people I ever truly admired as a kid,” he wrote. “The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. paid his respects to Hogan by sharing a selfie with him on X. “R.I.P to a legend,” Trump Jr. wrote of the wrestler, who was an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump.

Piers Morgan fondly called Hogan “the most iconic wrestler in history, a wonderful character, and in person, a far gentler, charming, intelligent man far removed from his snarling beast ring (and Rocky movie!) persona.” He concluded his tribute by writing, “Sad news.”

Retired wrestler Ric Flair was among also the stars who took to social media to pay tribute to Hogan. “I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan! Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend And Father!” he wrote on X. “Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!”

Fellow professional wrestler John Layfield shared that he Hogan was “one of the reasons” he got into wrestling. “Hulk was always so nice to me and was the one celebrity that wanted to see all the kids I brought over from Bermuda. RIP legend,” he wrote via X. “There will never be another. Hulkamania never dies.”

Marc Mero, who is a retired professional wrestler and amateur boxer, wrote that he was “deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my friend and wrestling legend, Hulk Hogan.”

“Terry Gene Bollea — known to millions as Hulk Hogan — was more than an icon in the ring. He was a man with a big heart and a genuine desire to help others,” Mero wrote in an X post. “He was a proud supporter of my school program, Champion of Choices, and was always willing to lend a hand — whether it was recording a promo to help us book school events or signing an autograph for a student who was hurting. One moment that speaks volumes about his character was when he took the time to personally call my friend, Delvis Franco, who was battling cancer, just to lift his spirits.”

County singer Lee Greenwood wrote, “Our hearts are with the Hogan family, the millions of fans and friends across the world as we mourn this heartbreaking loss.” Alongside the caption, Greenwood posted two photos of himself with Hogan.

Additionally, wrestler Kane praised Hogan as a “true legend” in his X tribute. “I was fortunate to work with him a couple of times, including this memorable one,” he wrote alongside a clip of them together. “It was easy to do a Hulkster impersonation when, like millions of guys my age, I’d practiced it in the mirror a thousand times growing up.”
