LOS ANGELES LAKERS
Bronny James is back for his second year with the Los Angeles Lakers and is competing in the NBA’s Summer League.
James and the Lakers fell short against the Dallas Mavericks, 87-85, on Thursday. He was matched up against 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg throughout the evening and at times got the best of the Mavericks’ rookie.
James’ outing started with promise after making his first two shots of the game. But he did not make another shot from the field the rest of the game, including a potential game-winner from long range in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter.
The second-year player was coming off an underwhelming performance in the Lakers’ 89-88 victory against the San Antonio Spurs during the California Classic on Tuesday. He had two points, two steals, a rebound and an assist in that game. He shot 1-for-5 from the field and 0-for-2 from the 3-point line in 15 minutes of play.
