HOUSTON, Texas (KETK) — With the 34th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans selected wide receiver Jayden Higgins from Iowa State University.

Dallas Cowboys draft Tyler Booker in first round

The Houston Texans are coming off a solid 2024 season finishing with a 10-7 regular season record and a playoff win against the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round. Despite gaining some post season momentum, the Texans failed to upset the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round and some fans hope the new addition to the receiver room can bring the team to the promise land.

Higgins played his first two seasons at Eastern Kentucky University before transferring to Iowa State University and finished his college career with 28 receiving touchdowns and 3,317 receiving yards, according to The Des Moines Register. Only time will tell if Higgins and current Texans’ quarterback, CJ Stroud, form a dangerous connection in the pass game.

The Texans’ next pick will be in the second round at number 58 and it’s projected they will lean towards the wide receiver position.
