Grint and Groome had not publicly announced their pregnancy before sharing the photo, which was taken after the couple was spotted in London holding their infant. The couple is already parents to their first daughter, Wednesday G Grint, who was born in 2020.
The Harry Potter star made his first Instagram post to announce Wednesday’s arrival, which also became a record-breaking moment as he became the fastest person to reach one million followers on the platform in just four hours and one minute, PEOPLE reported.
While the actor keeps his family life private, he has occasionally shared glimpses into his experiences as a father. In 2022, he expressed how much he was enjoying fatherhood and revealed the inspiration behind Wednesday’s name. “I’m always hesitant to say it was (inspired by) The Addams Family! But, it was” he said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Grint also shared about the time when his daughter accidentally picked up a curse word while spending time with him in his dressing room. It happened when he was reviewing scripts for his role as Julian Pearce in the series The Servant, where his character frequently swears, PEOPLE reported.
