Barça opened their preseason with a 3-1 victory in Kobe. After the game, Hansi Flick expressed his satisfaction. “It was a very good match, a good test for us” he said. “The first 30 minutes were fantastic. After that we lost a bit of control, but the second half was also very good. I’m pleased.”
The coach highlighted the strong performance of the whole team, especially the youngsters. “We have a lot of academy players. We’re very happy with them, like Jofre and Dro,” the latter having scored Barça’s third goal.
Flick also explained why Rashford had fewer minutes than the rest. “He’s a week behind the others. He hasn’t been training as much with the ball, and we want to look after him,” he said.
Praise for Vissel Kobe and Japan
The German coach also praised Vissel Kobe’s style of play: “What they do with the ball, how they pressed us, it’s really interesting. You can tell they have a clear idea, and it’s similar to ours,” he explained.
He also thanked the Japanese fans for the warm welcome the team has received since landing in the country 36 hours ago.
