ATLANTA, Ga. – Grammy-nominated rapper GloRilla was arrested on drug charges after police responded to a reported burglary at her home in Forsyth County.
According to the Forsyth Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to her house in the St. Marlo subdivision around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Investigators said three people were allegedly stealing things and had been shot at by a person living in the home before law enforcement arrived.
The suspects ran away, and no one was injured, the sheriff’s office said.
While responding to the home, deputies reported smelling marijuana and later returned with a search warrant, where they found a “significant amount” of the drug inside the home.
GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, was not home at the time and turned herself in on July 22, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said.
She was charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule I controlled substance and was later released on a $22,260 bond.
The investigation into the burglary remains active.
“The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,” said Sheriff Ron Freeman. “At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
