22:52 CET – Julian Alvarez’s second-half strike was the difference between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club, the match has ended 1-0 at the Metropolitano.

With Real Madrid’s loss earlier in the evening and the win over Athletic, Atleti are now table-toppers again, albeit with Barcelona able to leapfrog them tomorrow with a win.

22:41 CET – In the final Serie A match of the day, Udinese have edged Parma 1-0. Udinese are now on 39 points and certainly safe from danger in mid-table. Parma, meanwhile, could slip back into the bottom three if Empoli win tomorrow.

22:25 CET – There’s been a breakthrough in Madrid, Julian Alvarez has fired Atletico into a 1-0 lead over Athletic Club! As it stands, Atleti are going to finish the day on top of the LaLiga standings.

Over in Italy, Udinese are hosting Parma, that’s just kicking off now.

20:26 CET – Real Madrid have been stunned in a soggy Seville by Real Betis, with the hosts winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Johnny Cardoso and ex-Real man Isco

The win sees Betis close in on LaLiga’s top five but the real talking point is that Los Blancos have dropped more points in the title race with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona yet to play this weekend.
