The internet loves nothing more than a good celeb feud—we all fondly remember Don’t Worry Darling, right? Well, Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick really can’t seem to escape the feud rumors. The actresses attended the New York screening of their upcoming film, Another Simple Favor yesterday April 27—and some fans were quick to point out their apparently “awkward” interactions on the red carpet. A few outlets also noted that the pair have seemed a little uncomfortable throughout the press tour.
Of course, the feud rumors go way, way back—all the way back to the first Simple Favor movie in 2018 when Kendrick and Lively seemed to—well—kind of hate each other in each and every interview. It was all a joke, apparently. However, Kendrick didn’t exactly help dispel the rumors when, earlier this year, a reporter asked her “What does it mean to be working with Blake again?” and she replied, “Oh, you know…” before walking off without another word.

Nevertheless, back in October, Kendrick said that reuniting with Lively for the sequel was “lovely.” “She lives on the East Coast, I live on the West Coast, so we don’t get to see each other often,” Kendrick said while speaking with People. “But it was lovely, and I think that those characters have such weird chemistry that it’s so fun to just get the gang back together.”
Plus, according to sources at People, Kendrick is “not used to being caught up in any drama” and is “upset” by the online negativity. The source added, “The comments on Instagram have upset her, especially the ones saying fans are now refusing to watch the movie because they don’t want to support Blake.” Another source chimed in, “There is no feud. The film is in the early stages of planning what press will look like, and Blake and Anna will be doing some things together.”

Despite all of the speculation about an alleged feud, Lively and Kendrick posed happily together in subtly coordinating springtime looks on the red carpet at last night’s event. Lively donned a mint gown covered in criss-cross cutouts from Tamara Ralph’s spring 2025 couture collection. Meanwhile, Kendrick rocked a fun white two-piece from Zuhair Murad‘s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection.

Another Simple Favor, the sequel to Lively and Kendrick’s 2018 thriller, A Simple Favor, will land on streaming on Prime Video on May 1.
