Vietnam veterans gathered at the Bicentennial Memorial Park on Wednesday to mark the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon.
On April 30, 1975, North Vietnamese forces captured Saigon, marking the end of the Vietnam War and the reunification of Vietnam under communist control.
Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan joined veterans commemorating the event at the Vietnam War Memorial.
Following the fall of Saigon, was massive exodus of refugees and the withdrawal of U.S. forces. Some of which, settled in Fall River.
