Ethan Holliday, the son of former MLB star Matt Holliday, is projected by some to be the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 draft class on Sunday night.

The Oklahoma high schooler is the younger brother of Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday, who went No. 1 overall in the 2022 MLB Draft. Ethan Holliday could go No. 1 overall to the Washington Nationals, though some think he could slide to No. 4 overall, where the Colorado Rockies are picking. His dad starred for the Colorado Rockies for several years.

All eyes will be on the Holliday family on Sunday evening. The 2025 MLB Draft is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. E.T. It’ll air live on ESPN and the MLB Network.

Heading into the start of the 2025 MLB Draft, Holliday’s longtime girlfriend, an Oklahoma State cheerleader, is trending on social media.

Ethan Holliday’s longtime girlfriend, Mary O’Neil, is trending before the start of the 2025 MLB Draft.

Mary O’Neil has been dating Ethan Holliday for a couple of years. She’s a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta at Oklahoma State, where she is also a cheerleader.

“Us againnnn🩵,” she wrote back in June.

The girlfriend of the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft has been having a good summer.

She’s shared a lot of fun photos on her Instagram account, which has close to 4,000 followers. That number should go up a decent amount following Sunday night’s MLB Draft.

Ethan Holliday is considered a bit riskier of a pick than his brother, Jackson Holliday, who went No. 1 overall to Baltimore back in 2022. But he’s bigger with more power, so he could develop into a serious power-hitting third baseman.

We’ll have to see if the Nationals, picking No. 1 overall, decide to go with the younger Holliday brother.

The first round of the 2025 MLB Draft is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. E.T.

It’ll air live on ESPN and the MLB Network.
