Eagles working toward trading pass rusher Bryce Huff to 49ers

Bryce Huff is expected to join a new team for a second straight year.

The Philadelphia Eagles are working toward trading the pass rusher to the San Francisco 49ers, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Friday, per a league source.

A pre-June 1 trade would mean $12.1 million in dead money for the Eagles in 2025 with a $4.7 million loss of cap savings, while a post-June 1 move would incur only $3 million in dead money and save Philadelphia $4.4 million. Making the move official in a few days’ time would therefore be the most sensical course of action.

Huff, a five-year pro, has spent just one season with the Eagles after signing a three-year, $51.1 million deal during 2024 free agency. He logged 13 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 12 games played (six starts) for the Super Bowl champions.

He never seemed to be a perfect fit for Vic Fangio’s scheme and consequently fell back to earth following the 10-sack season that netted him a big payday.
