Detroit Lions wrap up 2025 NFL Draft by taking Georgia WR Dominic Lovett at No. 244

  • The Detroit Lions drafted Georgia WR Dominic Lovett with their second Round 7 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
  • Lovett is the third Georgia player drafted by the Lions, following guard Tate Ratledge and safety Dan Jackson.

The Detroit Lions took another wide receiver with their final pick of the 2025 NFL Draft on April 26, selecting Georgia’s Dominic Lovett with the No. 244 overall choice in the seventh round.

Lovett, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound slot specialist who began his career at Missouri, caught 197 passes, amassed 2,243 receiving yards and scored 13 touchdowns over the last four seasons.

Lovett joined the fold not long after the Lions grabbed his teammate, Georgia safety Dan Jackson, earlier in the seventh round. Detroit had previously picked Boise State edge defender Ahmed Hassanein in the sixth round and LSU guard Miles Frazier in the fifth.

The Lions began their draft by selecting Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams in the first round. They then bolstered their offense on Day 2 by trading up to pick the first of three Georgia players, guard Tate Ratledge, in the second round before moving up 32 spots to select Arkansas wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa in the third.
