Commanders re-signing LB Bobby Wagner to one-year contract worth up to $9.5 million

Bobby Wagner is staying in the nation’s capital.

The veteran linebacker is returning to the Washington Commanders on a one-year deal worth up to $9.5 million, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported, per sources. The contract includes $8 million in guaranteed money, per Rapoport and Garafolo.

Wagner followed his former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to Washington in 2024 and signed a deal that included roughly $6.06 million in guaranteed money. By earning his 10th Pro Bowl nod in 2024 and a second-team All-Pro selection with the upstart Commanders, Wagner proved he was worth more and Washington obliged, bumping his guaranteed total by nearly $2 million.
