Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders lived up to the hype on Friday night, that’s for sure.

Sanders looked really sharp against the Carolina Panthers, completing 14-of-23 passes for 138 yards with two touchdowns. It was an impressive performance for a rookie signal-caller with minimal first-team reps.
Following the Browns’ 30-10 preseason win over the Panthers, head coach Kevin Stefanski commented on Sanders’ performance. He made it clear that he’s not ready to talk about the team’s quarterback room. He is, however, willing to give the fifth-round pick from Colorado more reps.
“The situations were invaluable for Shedeur and all of our offense,” Stefanski said, via Scott Procter of DNVR Buffs. “We got a third-and-1 where he had a quarterback sneak. I mean, there’s just a lot of football and that’s by design with him getting a ton of reps in this game, and he’ll get a ton of reps next week as well. That’s all part of our development of our young players.”

Fans are claiming Stefanski’s body language on Friday night was poor. They’re convinced he wanted the rookie quarterback to struggle against the Panthers.
“If I’m the Browns I fire this clown and get real support around Shedeur,” one fan replied.
“Body language easy to read. Someone’s not excited about Shedeur’s performance. He’s the best hope at QB on this roster for the long term. Don’t you think Shedeur will remember how his HC treated him like he wasn’t much ? Don’t worry when Deion takes over Kevin can think on it,” a second fan said.

Another fan wrote, “Ok so nowwww he gets a tone of reps!!! What about the WEEKS leading up to tonight??”
“Jokes on him. Can’t wait to see him lose his job,” a fourth fan commented.
Sanders was actually asked if he deserves another chance to start. His response was very mature.
“I honestly don’t know and I don’t really care, you know?” Sanders said. “Whenever it’s my turn I’ve just got to take advantage of it. I feel like today I did some good, some bad and I know moving forward I won’t make the same mistakes twice.”

We’ll see if Sanders gets another chance to start on Aug. 16 when the Browns take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
