Wrexham fans were given another incredible afternoon at the STōK Cae Ras as Phil Parkinson secured promotion with a 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic.
Just over a year since securing promotion to League One, Wrexham are on the move once again.
Wycombe Wanderers’ defeat at Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon teed up a promotion opportunity for Wrexham come the evening.
Wrexham beat Charlton Athletic 3-0, turning in a superb performance to confirm promotion to the Championship.
Ollie Rathbone and Sam Smith sent the STōK Cae Ras wild as Wrexham raced into a 2-0 first-half lead.
Smith added number three before Wrexham fans celebrated yet another promotion under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds on the pitch.

The story since McElhenney and Reynolds bought Wrexham in 2021 has been remarkable.
Yes, Wrexham have been backed well financially, but you still need the right people in the right jobs and the right signings to truly create a winning team.
Wrexham have done that, all whilst McElhenney and Reynolds have helped rejuvenate Wrexham as a whole – not just the football team.
McElhenney and Reynolds celebrated together on Saturday evening, with Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively also in attendance.
Reynolds himself shared an emotional reaction to Wrexham’s promotion, with ‘Gossip Girl’ star Lively now following suit.
Posting on her Instagram story, Lively shared a photo of McElhenney and Reynolds embracing as the final whistle blew and Wrexham fans flooded the pitch.
Lively congratulated Wrexham on making history, whilst remarking on the ‘love and elation’ throughout Wrexham on Saturday evening.
Lively then praised both McElhenney and Reynolds, believing that they create magic together – as we have seen at Wrexham.
‘Back to Back to Back. History was made,’ wrote Lively.
‘Congratulations to Wrexham, I will never forget the love and elation in that town today. Thank you for sharing it with us always.
‘And to these two men, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds… the love and respect that pours out of you each and together exponentially grows and creates more joy, more possibilities, more magic, more history.
‘This picture feels to me like a painting of all you do for so many while being so present and appreciative of every moment,’ she added.
Some thought League One would be where the Wrexham project would slow down.
Here we are, for a third April in a row, with Wrexham celebrating promotion.
McElhenney believes Wrexham have more to come in the future, with no plans to settle for life in the Championship.
The next step will be difficult given the money flying around in the Championship, but Wrexham just keep adjusting and adapting to every challenge.
Promotion again next season may be a little lofty, but Wrexham will have plans to go again in the future – and we can’t rule out more magic being created with McElhenney and Reynolds at the helm.
