Ben Chilwell will have a chance to finish the season with a shiny little trophy, after Crystal Palace shocked Aston Villa in last night’s FA Cup semifinal at Wembley, winning 3-0 and booking their spot in next month’s final where they will face either Manchester City or Nottingham Forest.

Chilly played the final six minutes of regulation and the seven minutes of added-on time, when Ismaïla Sarr completed his brace and made the victory even more comprehensive. It was the Chelsea loanee’s ninth appearance since joining Palace in the January transfer window. He might not stay beyond the season, but he may yet finish on a high note.

For Villa, this completes a rather rough week following their narrow exit from the Champions League, losing to Manchester City midweek and now falling at the penultimate hurdle in the FA Cup. Hopefully their poor form does not improve in the final weeks, to greatly help our own top-five chances.
