Arizona Cardinals vs. Kansas City Chiefs updates: Starters ready; Wilson dressed

The Arizona Cardinals preseason is here, and it feels quite different than it has in the recent past.

The Cardinals starters — including Kyler Murray — are suited up for Saturday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. On the other sideline, Patrick Mahomes and the reigning AFC champions will also play their best.

Of course, the starters won’t play all four quarters. Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon did not commit to a snap count for his stars, but they’ll likely head to the sidelines early in the first half. Still, it’s a marked departure from the first two years of Gannon’s tenure, when the Cardinals essentially did not play any starters in preseason.

Gannon’s more aggressive new mindset even extends to some players who have dealt with minor training camp injuries. Most notably, Michael Wilson — who missed time last week with a concussion — was dressed before kickoff.

Only the team’s most experienced veterans, players such as Kelvin Beachum and Calais Campbell, were not dressed during warmups. The Cardinals have been cautious with the workload of those older players during training camp.
