It seems no one can avoid the allure of Buc-ee’s, not even a cursed doll. While not the actual doll that remains locked behind a sealed glass case, but an arguably more famous version of the Annabelle doll had to pay a visit to the famed Texas mega gas station this past weekend.
If you’ve been out of the loop, Annabelle, the supposedly haunted Raggedy Ann doll which has been locked away at Ed and Lorraine Warren’s Occult Museum in Connecticut hit the road this weekend for San Antonio’s fourth annual Psychic & Spirit Fest at the Black Swann Inn. The doll seemed to terrify the whole city with people calling for it to be sent away, but tickets fully sold out and hundreds wrapped around the lot for standby tickets.

Paranormal investigator Ryan Buell, who chronicled the experience on TikTok and brought a version of the Annabelle doll from The Conjuring horror movie series. During his visit, Buell visited Buc-ee’s and slipped a beaver-emblazoned T-shirt over the doll from the horror franchise.

The TikTok has been viewed by more than 22,000 people as of Monday, May 19, with replies ranging from “thou shan’t befoul Buc-ee’s” to “Yes! She is now a Texan! lol” and “make her wear a waffle house shirt next time.”
The Conjuring, released in 2013, brought viral attention to Annabelle’s story and spawned a horror trilogy spinoff of Annabelle films. The series used a much more frightening porcelain doll, a la Dead Silence, instead of the Raggedy Ann original, but helped grow the legend of her 1970s haunting where it supposedly became haunted by a dead woman named Annabelle.
If you want to follow the real life Annabelle’s national tour, her next stop is Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
