Asensio is out with an adductor strain—an issue that has been bothering him for weeks. The club has finally decided to shut him down to avoid further risk. So at the Pizjuán, Jacobo Ramón will start again—the hero against Mallorca. This time, though, he’ll be partnered by Tchouaméni, back from suspension.
Ancelotti’s only dilemma is in midfield: Modrić or Ceballos—a battle to see who will line up alongside Valverde. Out wide, it will be Güler and Bellingham, both tasked with helping the full-backs drop back. On the right, Lucas Vázquez returns after recovering from a pectineus muscle injury sustained in Montjuïc.
