Ancelotti prepares his final throw of the Real Madrid dice

Ancelotti will keep Jacobo Ramón, as Asencio is out due to injury. The doubt lies in the midfield: Modric or Ceballos. Up front, Endrick and Mbappé.

Back in the spotlight. Running on minimal resources. It’s becoming routine at Real Madrid.

Asensio is out with an adductor strain—an issue that has been bothering him for weeks. The club has finally decided to shut him down to avoid further risk. So at the Pizjuán, Jacobo Ramón will start again—the hero against Mallorca. This time, though, he’ll be partnered by Tchouaméni, back from suspension.

Ancelotti’s only dilemma is in midfield: Modrić or Ceballos—a battle to see who will line up alongside Valverde. Out wide, it will be Güler and Bellingham, both tasked with helping the full-backs drop back. On the right, Lucas Vázquez returns after recovering from a pectineus muscle injury sustained in Montjuïc.

Who will play for Real Madrid against Sevilla?

Because up front, everything is clear. Who’s available will play: Mbappé… and Endrick. All of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Brahim are out due to injury.

As such, Ancelotti only has two forwards – and he will start them both. On the bench, Víctor Muñoz and Gonzalo (who this Saturday equaled Mariano as Castilla’s top scorer in a single season).

Therefore, the possible starting eleven at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán is:

GK: Courtois

DEF: Lucas Vázquez – Tchouaméni – Jacobo Ramón – Fran García

MID: Güler – Modric / Ceballos – Valverde – Bellingham

ATT: Endrick – Mbappé

Real Madrid’s next match is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, 2025, against Sevilla FC. The game will take place at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Seville, Spain, with kickoff at 5:00 PM local time (11:00 AM Eastern Time).
