While Nvidia dominates in AI GPUs, analysts still see room for AMD to capture a meaningful slice of the market

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. didn’t say enough on its earnings call to give its stock a further boost, but some analysts are staying patient on the artificial-intelligence opportunities ahead, which AMD’s management predicts could result in tens of billions of dollars’ worth of annual revenue down the road.
One issue in the short term, however, is that while AMD AMD beat expectations on the whole with its latest numbers, data-center revenue only matched the consensus view, suggesting that AI wasn’t the driver of the company’s upbeat results put out on Tuesday afternoon.
