After recent trade, Dallas Mavericks assign Caleb Martin to G League’s Texas Legends

It appears Caleb Martin will get a chance to regain his rhythm before making his Dallas Mavericks debut.

On Tuesday, the Mavericks announced that they had assigned Martin to the G League’s Texas Legends. Dallas originally acquired Martin last month in a trade that sent Quentin Grimes to Philadelphia. Martin hasn’t played since January due to a right hip strain.

The Mavericks initially sent Grimes and a 2025 second-round pick to the 76ers as part of the Martin trade, but received an additional 2030 second-rounder from Philadelphia after Martin was re-evaluated for his injury.

Before the Mavericks faced Milwaukee over the weekend, head coach Jason Kidd said Martin was “doing extremely well” in his injury rehab.
