Actress who starred in popular ’80s slasher film, soap opera dies at 63

Lar Park Lincoln, the actress known for playing Tina Shepherd in “Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood” and her dual characters in “Knots Landing,” has died. She was 63.

Actors Audition Studios, the acting school that Lincoln founded, wrote in a Facebook post that she died on Tuesday, April 22.

“Over her 45-year career, Lar left an unforgettable mark on Hollywood through her dynamic performances and dedication to mentoring aspiring actors,” the post reads.

“Her television legacy includes her iconic five-year role as dual characters on Knots Landing, alongside Michele Lee and William Devane, and her powerful lead performance in Children of the Night opposite Kathleen Quinlan and Mario Van Peebles,” it continued. “She also guest-starred alongside legends like Michael Landon, Angela Lansbury, and Christina Applegate.”

The post did not list a cause of death, but the Hollywood Reporter said Lincoln had breast cancer.

Born on May 12, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, Lincoln’s first screen role was in the 1985 TV movie “Children of the Night” alongside Kathleen Quinlan and Mario Van Peebles. Lincoln won the prestigious Bronze Halo award for her portrayal of a young teenage sex worker in the film.

The actress appeared in several more films and TV shows, including the hit “Highway to Heaven,” before starring in the 1988 slasher “Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood.”

However, Lincoln was best known for portraying Linda Fairgate in “Knots Landing” from 1987 to 1991. She also appeared in “Murder, She Wrote” and “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

Her last film was the 2022 mystery “Ghost Party.” However, according to her IMDb Pro credits, Lincoln has two more films in the works.

Lincoln also founded Actors Audition Studios and released her first book, “Get Started, Not Scammed,” in 2008. According to her IMDb biography, Lincoln was working on her autobiography entitled “Lucky Girl.”

Lincoln is survived by her daughter, Piper; her sister, Karen; her brother, Michael and four grandchildren, among many more loved ones. Her family is asking that donations be made in her honor to The SAG-AFTRA Foundation or The Entertainment Community Fund.
