This evening should be fine. It will be mild with temperatures in the 60s. There is a small chance of showers. Expect a good chance of showers and storms for Mardi Gras. The best chance of rain will be from mid morning to mid afternoon. There will be a threat of severe weather, but I think the better chance of severe weather will be north of Acadiana. Strong south winds should pull some cooler air off the cooler water of the Gulf, which may help stabilize the atmosphere. Highs will be in the upper 70s. The main concern will be the non thunderstorm winds.
Winds will be out of the south at 25-30 mph with wind gusts as high as 40 to 50 mph. Cooler and drier air returns Wednesday, and we should see the sun return. Highs will be in the upper 60s. Expect very nice weather Wednesday through Friday, then rain returns Saturday.
